Covpark Repairs

Just had this email off Ann, manager of the Memorial Park (where Covpark is).

Gravity have carried out the repairs yesterday and today but the kids will not stay off the area. We have fenced and zip tied it to prevent access and they consistently break it down. We have explained to them that the work is for their own good and they have sworn at my staff and given them verbal abuse. I wonder if someone from their own sector such as another skater could talk more sense into them? If this is the sort of response we get when we try and work with them we won’t get very far with a funding bid. I have always had a positive response from the users but obviously the group there today and yesterday are not interested in working with us. I understand that the park’s skaters are fine but the local group are being abusive. Any help you or other users can give would be appreciated.

That’s right… Gravity have done repairs on Covpark. The concrete is still settling, so anyone who has been using the skatepark… DON’T USE IT. The way that the memorial park staff have been treated is also having a pretty bad effect on whether we can get funding to EXTEND THE SKATEPARK. That’s right; if you’re one of the kids who has been giving ABUSE to the people trying to repair the skatepark and to the memorial park staff, you’re RUINING OUR CHANCES OF EXTENDING COVPARK. Sort yourselves out, get OFF the skatepark and be patient.
