Armchair detractors

I’m not quite sure if it’s something about us as Brits, but on this little island whenever something positive is being done, there’s an army of people at the sideline who are very quick to say “No that won’t work”, or “That’s gonna be shit”. This happens a lot in England, and it is likely more jarring when it comes to anything related to skateboarding.

Wanna build a skatepark? Nah, it’ll never happen. Wanna run a competition? Oh no you can’t do that. Wanna drive 3 hours for a skate? Oh that’s too far.

Skateboarding is built on impossibility. We take rules and we fucking smash them. That’s who we are. Next time someone tells you you can’t do something, look them in the eye and fucking do it anyway.
