Right, so I know many of you have already asked, so to just put everything on the table and clear up what’s what, here’s the deal with the summer road trip.
This year, I initially messaged far less people about the road trip – last year we ran into a major problem when I foolishly asked loads of people who couldn’t drive and/or didn’t have cars. As such, a fair few people who wanted to go couldn’t. To try and avoid that situation, I messaged some guys who drive first, as well as 2 or 3 people who had already asked me about the possibility of a trip, in an attempt to try and find more people to drive and hopefully get more people to come.
As it stands, due to how late I’ve left it (I started to organise this about a month ago instead of at the beginning of the year!) we’re currently looking at a rather small group again for the trip. My car is full, Andy is going to Glastonbury on the 2nd day of the trip, so can’t really take anyone with him, and Daryl Nobbs, Felix Parker and Becky Jaques are all in their own car (and will be coming from London, so again it makes things a bit difficult for organising a lift for someone).
With a plan in place, and dates set, I’ve decided to open up the trip to people now, which should give you enough time to sort yourselves out. However, I wanted to make some things clear; I will not be organising your travel arrangements, your camping arrangements, or your social life for you!!! If you’re interested in coming on the road trip, and are free between the 20th and 24th of June (a full Monday to Friday week), then get a motley crew of you together, organise how you’re gonna travel, and email me at adetheterrible@gmail.com for a detailed plan of what’s a’gwanin. Whether you train it, bus it, or if you’re lucky enough to own a car, I wanna see who’s coming along.
