Now, I’m not usually one for posting any old skate video I see on the internet. There’s so much good stuff out there that if I were to post every video that blew my mind then this blog would be a post a minute.

However, I’ve always been a MASSIVE fan of Thrasher’s private facility Double Rock. In a world where skateboarding is dominated by The Berrics and the idea of private indoor parks ran by skaters for skaters really taking off, it’s nice to see that Thrasher are moving along with what kids want to see, yet still showing that kind of entertainment in a way that is stereotypically Thrasher. They’ve always showcased all kinds of skateboarding and never prioritise street over transition (which I honestly feel is usually the case with a lot of other skateboarding publications).

The reason I’ve posted this video, is because out of all of the awesome Double Rock videos I’ve seen, Ben Raybourn’s video takes the (pardon my French) fucking cake. Up until this point my favourite episode of Double Rock has been the Vincent Alvarez one – fast, frantic, big airs and a bit of technical skating, and metal. Raybourn’s one ups the ante even further. He one ups Alvarez from the get go with some frankly ridiculous hip transfers, and then goes even further by taking down transfers that I’d never even imagine someone would try, landing pretty much everything in a lightning fast disaster or rock fakie, and doing massive airs on the bigger quarters to lip tricks that literally SMACK their way back into the ramp. His last trick is possibly the best thing I’ve ever seen – see it for yourself, but be warned, it might cause your brain to explode. Enjoy!
