Sunday Skateboarding Summary

I’ve decided that every Sunday (or when I can be bothered) I’m going to post a wee summary of the day’s shred sesh.

Recently I’ve not had my car, as it failed it’s MOT and is at the garage getting some much needed love, care, and new parts. Because of this minor inconvenience, today’s skate was firmly Coventry based, and was not able to take place more than 30 minutes walk from my home. We began the day at Covpark, where an abundance of bicycle riders seemed to have congregated, taking over most of the park, until about 1 o clock, when they all suddenly disappeared/stopped riding. I filmed a little bit, including a moo-hassive kickflip from Russell Bristow, and some surprising tech skills from young Christopher Ayres who lives down the street from me.

We headed off to town at about 1.30, and started the skate at a rough as shit bank near the train station, where Joxa and Rosko spied a gap opportunity over a bush. Joxa took some harsh slams but came through with that sweet, sweet footage and did the most “STREET” ollie I’ve ever seen him do. Boost steez.

We trekked up to the “gay banks”, when I went on to do stinking ollie airs out of the whippy, 1 and a half foot high banks. Harry almost got a Nosebluntslide on the bank, and Rosko was severely killing it with sweepers, front blunts and other mental tricks that only he can do. Slasher disappeared repeatedly, going on investigation missions and coming back looking exhausted. Joxa spent 30 minutes trying to do a wallride in a back alley with the worst run up.

Next was the boys club banks, where Joxa and Swampy did wallride doubles, Slasher got some burt slide action and Gnarly Gnick took a horrible slam and grazed his hip. By this point I was totally over the session because I’m so not street and get bored if I can’t skate a quarter pipe and do a disaster or a sweeper. We finished off the day by bombing from Starbucks all the way down to the end of the lower precient, where we were greeted by a bunch of inbred idiot kids that Rosko claimed were “posh kids posing as chavs”.

So that’s Sunday the 7th of March for you. I promise the next Sunday Skateboarding Summary will be better… mainly because I’ll have a car. I miss my car.
